Requirements for Employment:
Responsibilities: What would they do?
• Be responsible for leading the weekly Youth Group meetings. Plan out the message focus for each semester. Maintain the Youth Group schedule and work with the Youth Leader team to run YG each week.
• Reach out to teenagers who come on Sunday mornings and seek to welcome them into the church and youth activities. The Youth Director should take a visible part in Sunday morning worship and Christian Education, so that new parents and teenagers at EGCC can find an access point for the Youth Ministry.
• Communicate with the YL team, students, parents, and the congregation. Put bulletin announcements in where appropriate. Plan out the building use and make reservations through the Church Admin where appropriate.
• Develop the gifts and skills of the volunteer leaders by offering training and support. Ensure volunteer leaders are able and ready to serve in the position. Develop a plan for Preparation/Training for potential new leaders.
• Create and maintain the schedule of parent support for registration and chaos containment. Be the first contact person for parents when issues or questions arise. Foster positive relationships with the parents of students inside and outside the church.
• Live out relational ministry with the teenagers by connecting with teenagers in their lives beyond Youth Group and church activities (such as going to see them play when they have a game/match).
• Offer a path for deeper spiritual growth and engagement beyond Youth Group for those teens ready to grow (such as the Wednesday night Bible study).
• Engage the teenagers in the activities and life of EGCC. Find ways to draw them in for churchwide activities. Work with the Children’s Ministry Director to support Vacation Bible School and to encourage teen volunteers.
• Attend Christian Ed meetings and work with the Christian Ed Board and the teachers to have a Christian Ed plan for the teenagers for Sunday mornings.
• Be accessible to the students for counseling, and when necessary engage Pastor Mitch or the elders in difficult situations.
• Set up opportunities for Summer Camp trips or Mission/Work trips by providing coordination and communication with parents, teens, and Youth leaders.
• Meet with and regularly communicate with Pastor Mitch to review the plans for and execution of YG meetings. Develop in consultation with Pastor Mitch a message plan for the semester and coordinate with the potential teachers.
• Meet with and update the Elder Board on a periodic basis.
• Take an active role in the fellowship and spiritual life of EGCC.
• Monitor the spending/finances for the Youth Group to ensure it stays within the budgeted amount.
• Be creative in developing this ministry to teenagers, and in supporting the church parents in their goals to raise their kids to know Christ and grow in their relationship with the Lord.

• Striving to follow the command to love God and love others in all of your relationships both inside and outside the church.
• Upholding the standards of behavior taught in Scripture for honesty and morality, including regarding sexual behavior (faithfulness in marriage or chastity in singleness).
• Be in agreement with the EGCC Statement of Faith and Ministry Vision and pursue becoming a member of EGCC. Uphold the faith and teachings of EGCC in both ministry and personal settings.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and be able to clearly share the gospel with youth and adults.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Basic leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to use technology, media, and social media for ministry purposes.
Valued Qualities:
• Four-year college degree.
• Youth ministry leadership experience in different settings (whether paid or volunteer).
• Experience in leading a ministry in a church or parachurch setting.
• Training specific for doing youth ministry, or for leading of small groups.
• Classes or certificates for theology or Biblical knowledge.
Hours Required: The position is full-time and requires 40 hours per week.
• The Youth Director should keep a record of YG activities and ministry tasks and be able to create a monthly report for the senior pastor and Elder Board.
After completing six months of ministry, one week vacation time is included for the first year in the position.
After completing the first year of ministry, two weeks vacation time per year are included, not more than 3 Sunday mornings. Any vacation time or other requested time off should ensure the necessary tasks are completed and is to be discussed with the senior pastor.

East Glenville Community Church – Seeking a new Youth Director / Youth Pastor
We are a church family of 150-200 active participants with a growing number of young families. We have a very active youth group and are looking to bring in a full-time person to lead the EGCC Youth Ministry and disciple the young people in our midst.
The EGCC Youth Ministry encompasses Thursday Night Youth Group, Sunday morning worship and Christian Ed, as well as special activities and additional Bible studies for students in 6th – 12th grade. Thursday Night Youth Group for many students will be the “front door” of EGCC’s ministry to teenagers. The YG gatherings would be well-planned with care given for the message, the game, and small group times. The Vision is for a Youth Ministry that is Christ-centered, welcoming, relational and grounded in Scripture. EGCC is located in Glenville, New York.
