The Outreach Specialist will be part of The Building Our Leadership and Diversity (BOLD) Prevention Fellowship Program (PFP). The BOLD PFP is focused on increasing the number of prevention scientists working within Black/African American communities and building their capacity to identify and chronicle programs, practices, and policies proven effective in reducing substance misuse risk factors and consequences and promoting mental health and protective factors or assets in Black/African American communities. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and effectively under general supervision, excellent time management and attention to detail, initiative and creativity on the job along with the ability to problem solve.

BOLD Fellows (Outreach Specialist) will receive mentorship from prevention staff in a state, territory, jurisdiction, national organization, and/or federally-recognized tribe or other American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN/) community associated with their placement and will be exposed to the day-to-day workings of the site. This is a paid position. Fellows (Outreach Specialist) will work on projects as assigned by their placement approximately 50% of the time and will dedicate the other 50% of their time to learning and capacity development activities coordinated by the Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) network.

Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Quaker Voluntary Service (QVS) invites you to embark on a life-changing Fellowship program where you'll dive into meaningful work, build intentional connections, and explore themes of spirituality and personal growth.

About QVS:
Quaker Voluntary Service is not just a fellowship; it's a transformative experience. As a QVS Fellow, you'll work full-time at social service and social change agencies, addressing a spectrum of critical issues such as economic justice, racial equity, housing and homelessness, education, immigration, environmental sustainability, human rights, mental and physical disability, and youth justice.

Program Highlights:
Locations: Fellowships available in Boston, MA; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Philadelphia, PA; and Portland, OR.
Supportive Environment: QVS provides housing, utilities, a public transit pass, a grocery stipend, and assistance with SNAP registration.

Job Description: 

Gracehaven serves youth and families through a team of Christian workers and like-minded partners by providing sex trafficking prevention services and by empowering youth rescued from sex-trafficking to thrive with dignity in a renewed life.

Our Community Case Managers serve youth (ages 11-19) across Ohio who have been trafficked or who are at risk of being trafficked by providing prevention education, life skills training, resource referral, and care coordination.

Our Youth Direct Care Specialists (YDCS) and Nurse work at our Therapeutic Group Home for girls (ages 12-18) who have been sexually exploited. Residents attend school, individual counseling, group counseling, and prevention education groups on-site. Our YDCS team supervises and supports residents throughout the day. Our Nurse administers medications, consults with residents and staff, advocates for residents' medical needs, and accompanies residents to doctor's appointments.
