Job Description
Provide instruction in assigned class(es) in accordance with applicable administrative policies and procedures, established instructional models, and course syllabus/syllabi as established by the Legacy Bible Institute. Implement appropriate strategies to assist students to achieve their spiritual, intellectual, and missional potential and provide superior student service. The ideal candidate would be “at home” in the English Bible (OT, NT, Biblical Theology) and basic systematic theology, and able to teach a variety of biblically-based topics. Candidates should be able to give clear and convincing testimony of their commitment to Christ, a life of obedience and growing maturity, a love for Christ-centered learning across various disciplines, and skill in teaching and ministering to students of diverse ages. The candidate should be excited to teach the riches of Christ’s gospel from within the doctrinal parameters of historic Anabaptism, and with the utmost respect for the Bible as God’s infallible and authoritative Word in all matters of faith and life.

As an employee of Upward Bound Youth that is deeply involved in Legacy’s learning community, the primary responsibilities for this position would be geared toward teaching 18-30 year-old students, but a commitment to UBY’s broader community outreach programs would also be necessary.

Work Environment/Conditions:
Legacy Bible Institute is a gap-year program designed for 18-30 year-olds, and is operated by Upward Bound Youth (UBY) in affiliation with the Apostolic Christian Church Foundation and the Wooster Bible Church. The Apostolic Christian Church is a small Christian denomination that started as a neo-Anabaptist revival movement in the 1800s. UBY broadly aims to “Teach Truth and Equip Youth” and has a variety of other ministries and programs that it is operating and expanding. Legacy aims to graduate obedient students of Scripture who are abiding and growing in Christ, and are equipped for lifelong learning and mission.

This job operates in an office/classroom environment located in Wooster, Ohio. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Additionally, UBY’s outreach programming can involve working with K-12 grade students in indoor and outdoor facilities and spaces. The position may require long periods of standing or sitting. The applicant should be able to lift 25 pounds and be able to assist in set-up or take-down for outreach events. General Purpose
The coordinator will provide short term services to qualified clients through International Welcome Center’s Day 91 services including direct intake and assessment and make appropriate referrals to internal and/or external services. The coordinator will work closely with volunteers to ensure internal services are properly delivered such as meeting urgent resettlement needs, conversational English and providing drivers training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee the hiring, training, support, supervision, and performance evaluation of direct service staff, including community ambassador and volunteer and events coordinator, with potential for additional direct service staff
• Network and create meaningful partnerships with other service providers in the greater Akron area that will enhance responsiveness to the needs of clients
• Maintain community resource list for staff, clients and volunteers
• Conduct home visits and complete risk and needs assessments for resettlement, English proficiency and readiness for driver’s training
• Follow up on client needs as required by program
• Conduct group trainings and meetings on topics such as cultural competence and English proficiency as needed
• Make appropriate external referrals that meet client’s needs, follow up on the referral to ensure a connection was made and assist with enrollment into various services, as needed
• Coordinate outside services and make communication with outside providers as appropriate
• Oversee, coordinate and manage donations that are gathered and delivered to meet the urgent resettlement needs of clients
• Maintain open, ongoing communication with staff, volunteers, and community partners on behalf of clients in accordance with individual self-sufficiency plans, while honoring confidentiality
• Coordinate volunteers to assist clients in reaching their goals in obtaining appropriate household items, English classes or driving training

Job Description: 

General Purpose
The volunteer & events coordinator recruits, trains and coordinates volunteers to deliver essential services that support IWC clients participating in IWC programs. This position will also be responsible for coordinating special events internally and in the community. The coordinator will work closely with the program coordinator and resettlement case manager to ensure volunteers are properly trained and services are properly delivered.

• Networks and maintains meaningful connections with local universities, churches, community groups and others to recruit volunteers to fulfill the volunteer needs of the IWC
• Recruits, screens, trains, and supervises an appropriate number of volunteers that support the mission of the International Welcome Center
